Circus First Issue 50¢ and $1 Chips were on the table when Circus Circus
Opened on October 18, 1968.
In April 1969,
the Nevada Gaming Control Board ordered Circus Circus to close down due to financial
problems. They did not get the high rollers that they thought would fill the
Big Top! It was Jay Sarno's resignation that saved the casino from being shut
down.

out in the arcade section of the casino. You could redeem them for toys!
